A Steady Gift for the Next Reader
Providing Stability with a Monthly Gift
Florence Narine gives monthly because she knows what library access can mean in a child’s life.
As a young kid who loved to read, Florence Narine knew exactly what it meant when Toronto Public Library’s bookmobile arrived in her North York neighbourhood.
“It was like the ice cream truck for me,” she recalls.
The bookmobile brought more than books. For Florence, it opened a door—to stories, ideas and possibility. Her parents, like many new Canadians, valued education deeply and encouraged her to enrich it through the library. Looking back, Florence understands that what TPL offered her family was something both simple and profound: access.
Monthly giving is also meaningful to Florence because it makes philanthropy feel open to everyone. It is not about the size of one gift. It is about the steady impact.
Florence’s ongoing support is her way of honouring what the library made possible in her own life, while helping ensure that same access remains available to others, month after month.
