Estate planning helps librarians-to-be

Gordon Hinch established the Pauline Hinch Memorial Award for Staff Development in memory of his late wife – a dedicated librarian at Toronto Public Library for many years.

The Pauline Hinch Endowment Fund provides support for library staff who wish to become librarians. Through Gordon’s initial generous support and the support of others who believe in and love their librarians, the endowment fund has grown to more than $100,000, creative an annual award of at least $3,500 to support tuition for those striving to enter the worthy profession.

Gordon has also included the Toronto Public Library Foundation as a bequest in his will, thereby growing the Pauline Hinch Endowment Fund and supporting other library priorities that reflect Gordon’s values and interests.
