When the new president of the Toronto Public Library Foundation (TPLF), Jennifer Jones, joined the team this September she had a clear vision. “My biggest opportunity is to celebrate the role TPL plays in our communities, how essential it is to the fabric of our society and that it is the great equalizer. In raising awareness
of the Library, I hope to inspire both grassroots donors and city builders to join us in ensuring that as Toronto evolves, the Library remains vibrant and relevant to all of its communities.”
With nine years’ experience as VP of Indigo Love of Reading Foundation, Jennifer’s vision emphasizes building relationships—between the Foundation, Library, donors, other city builders and not-for-profits.
The connections she aspires to nurture will allow these groups to work together to expand access, increase opportunity and enhance collaboration between the Library’s 100 branches. Jennifer feels that engagement with other not-for-profits serving Toronto communities will help meet identified needs while building the profiles of all supporting organizations. City Librarian Vickery Bowles said, “Jennifer comes with a fresh perspective looking beyond a traditional framework. I’m looking forward to working together to build a stronger presence for the Library and the Foundation.”
Serving you, the Foundation’s donors, is critical too. Jennifer recognizes your tremendous impact and wants to offer you more opportunities to see, up close, the programs and services your giving makes possible, and the ways your generosity changes people’s lives.
