Run or walk for Toronto Public Library on October 16. Join us in the Scotiabank Charity Challenge, part of the massive Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon. If you’re a marathon runner – fantastic! Go the distance for TPL. If you’re not quite at that athletic level, there’s also a half-marathon and and easy 5k walk or run.
The Scotiabank Charity Challenge has raised $50 million for Canadian charities since its launch in 2003. Last year was the first year the Toronto Public Library Foundation participated. We had 28 runners/walkers and raised $8,000 Everyone agreed it was a fun way to raise money for the library. For many (especially commuters) it was a thrill simply to walk in the middle of Lake Shore Blvd without a car in sight!
Please help us achieve our goal of $15,000. Register today and then reach out to friends, family, colleagues and your social network to sponsor you. This year Toronto Public Library needs donations to help fund the Digital Innovation Hubs, Ready for Reading outreach, Youth Hubs and many more priorities that wouldn’t be possible with government funding alone.
